About the GSA
The Georgia Securities Association is a non-profit professional trade organization founded in 1935. We work to develop and enhance the business ethics, standards and environment of our members involved in trading securities. Membership in the GSA also includes membership dues for our parent organization, the Security Traders Association. As a group of over 6,000 members nationwide, the STA provides its members with educational seminars and conferences, keeps them abreast of changes in industry rules and regulations, and lobbies in Washington on behalf of trading professionals. With the help of the STA, the Georgia Securities Association will provide timely information on the changes affecting our markets as well as be an influential voice in legislative matters that affect our industry.
As successful and responsible members of the investment community, the Georgia Securities Association makes an effort to give back to the local community. In 2016, the GSA made charitable donations of approximately $120,000, including college scholarships awards to needy recipients from the membership and their families. The hallmark of the GSA’s charitable giving is our 30-year relationship with the Georgia Stock Market Game. The Stock Market Games is a statewide stock market simulation that provides students of all ages with an exciting way of learning about the capital markets, as well as fiscal responsibility.
The GSA has one annual event every fall. It is a two-day outing attended by industry leaders including local members as well as affiliate members from all over the country. The Fall Outing provides networking opportunities and an educational business forum.
